History of Train Post (dead-end track beyond Brno 2 post office)
The Train Post Museum, which is the only one in the Czech Republic and Central Europe, invites you to explore the history of post transport by rail. You will learn about the work of the train post crews who finished their mission after 149 years in 1999. The exhibition, displaying authentic postal service aids and a number of letters and packages sent by post at different periods, is conceived as “a standard workday“ of the post car crew. It is complemented by period photographs and info panels, documenting the development of the rolling stock of the train post, the system of post transport and work in the post car. It is situated in an authentic, historical post car, made by the Tatra Kolín wagon factory in 1949, which was listed as cultural heritage in March of this year.
